At Fixi Handyman Services, we started this project with a light re-sanding of all stair treads to remove existing imperfections and ensure uniform stain absorption. This was followed by a thorough cleaning and tack-cloth prep between steps. We then applied a customer-approved stain sample to all stair treads. To ensure durability and a polished look, we applied 2 coats of polyurethane/clear protective finish. We didn’t stop there; we repainted all risers and stringers after the stain and finish were complete. To give a crisp transition between painted areas and stained treads, we did some caulk and touch-up line work.
